Mittens for Detroit is the ONLY non-profit in nation focusing on mittens alone.
Each year MFD distributes 25,000 mittens in Metro Detroit
pairs of gloves distributed since it's founding in 2010
Focus on Quality
Mittens for Detroit painstakingly chooses the best mittens for our community. We accept only new, unused mittens and do not distribute cheap thin gloves.
In fact each year we collect ____ homemade knitted or crocheted gloves and mittens from our volunteers. There are many charity knitters, crocheters, sewists, and upcyclers who donate their time and resources to providing Detroiters with handmade mittens and gloves.
Stronger Together
With the help of our sponsors, each year we collect, sort, and distribute 25,000 pairs of loves through Metro Detroit.
Our partners utilize Community Collection boxes in their lunchrooms, host casula days at work with donations goinf to MFD in addition to supporting our Big Sort each year.
